About The Position

Brains & Motion Education (BAM!) provides STEM, arts, and sports enrichment programs in schools and communities. The STEM Instructor role is an opportunity to apply STEM expertise in an educational setting and encourage curiosity, critical thinking, teamwork, and personal growth among students. Instructors lead STEM activities and teach foundational through advanced topics, helping children progress at their own pace in a positive, collaborative environment. Programs may include Python and Scratch coding, robotics, LEGO robotics, math, game design, and science explorations.

This part-time position is located in Watertown, Massachusetts, and is scheduled on Mondays from 3:15 PM to 4:30 PM. The position is scheduled to begin January 4, 2027, and run through March 22, 2027. The wage is $36 per hour.

Requirements

• One to two years of experience in STEM subject matters.
• A strong passion for sharing STEM expertise with youth.
• Genuine enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring.
• Excellent class management skills and ability to work effectively with students in grades K–8.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license or State ID.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Willingness to undergo additional training as required.
• Ability to lift and carry approximately 20–50 pounds occasionally, with or without accommodations.

Nice To Haves

• Prior coaching or teaching experience is highly encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire students in a variety of STEM activities.
• Teach the fundamentals of STEM topics, from basic to advanced levels, supporting students as they progress at their own pace.
• Foster a positive, collaborative environment and develop students’ problem-solving and teamwork skills.
• Implement BAM! STEM programs, including Python and Scratch coding, robotics, LEGO robotics, math, game design, and science explorations.
