About The Position

The STEM Activity Specialist designs and facilitates project-based learning experiences within STEM specializations. The role collaborates with site leadership to plan, develop, and deliver quality youth development activities; builds positive, professional relationships with participants, families, and school faculty; and coordinates events in the specialty area. The specialist engages participants through encouragement and resources, prepares necessary paperwork and supplies, and submits program- and certification-related documents on time. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Be a college student or a high school graduate aged 18 or older.
• Have two years of experience working with children and/or youth in the relevant specialization.
• Have exemplary supervisory skills with elementary-, middle-school-, or high-school-aged youth and the aptitude to motivate people.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Be able to plan and carry out assignments independently.
• Be able to prioritize, adhere to timelines, and multitask.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in one or more languages such as Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Bengali, or another language based on client needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with site leadership to plan, develop, and execute quality project-based youth development activities.
• Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with participants, families, and school faculty.
• Coordinate specialty-area events and functions, such as showcases, exhibits, productions, and culminating events.
• Engage participants in specialty-area activities and support them through encouragement and by providing resources.
• Prepare related paperwork, materials, and implementation supplies.
• Submit all program- and certification-related documents on time.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
