About The Position
Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI, aiming to deploy 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. This involves acquiring power, designing and building data centers, and operating them. The company emphasizes extreme ownership, autonomy, velocity, first principles thinking, and a passion for the problem space. The Supply Chain Team is crucial to this mission, focusing on supplying 10GW of compute, qualifying and dual-sourcing critical equipment, ensuring supply chain efficiency to enable rapid build-outs, and developing advanced supply chain prediction modeling using AI. This role specifically focuses on owning supplier quality for steel fabrication and building management systems (BMS) suppliers that feed into the modular build process.
Requirements
- Experience in quality assurance in steel fabrication, including welds, dimensions, and coatings.
- Ability to read weld procedure specifications and structural drawings fluently.
- Experience rejecting fabricated work and managing the resulting schedule fallout.
- Proven ability to bring shops up to standard rather than just documenting non-compliance.
Nice To Haves
- AWS CWI certification.
- Experience in AISC-certified shops.
- Knowledge of NDE methods.
- Experience with modular construction QA.
Responsibilities
- Own supplier quality for steel fabrication and building systems suppliers feeding the modular build.
- Audit fabrication shops on weld quality, dimensional control, and coating systems before and during production.
- Run source inspections on fabricated assemblies to catch defects at the shop level.
- Standardize the quality requirements flowdown to ensure consistent quality from fabricators.
