About The Position

We are seeking a passionate and engaging STEAM After School Instructor to lead classes for students in PreK-8th grade. This role involves facilitating hands-on learning experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Classes typically run in 60-minute blocks between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. Multiple class date options are available.

Requirements

Experience working with children in a formal or informal educational setting.
Knowledge and passion for STEAM subjects.
Ability to create and deliver engaging lesson plans.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable and punctual.
Must be able to work Monday through Thursday afternoons.

Nice To Haves

Experience with curriculum development.
Background in a specific STEAM field (e.g., coding, robotics, art, science).
Teaching credential or relevant certifications.
Experience with diverse age groups (PreK-8th).

Responsibilities

Lead and instruct STEAM-focused classes for students in PreK-8th grade.
Develop and implement engaging, hands-on activities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
Manage classroom behavior and ensure a positive and safe learning environment.
Adapt curriculum to meet the needs of different age groups and learning styles.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and program coordinators.
Prepare materials and set up the classroom for each session.
Potentially lead mini-camps or field trips as part of the program.
