About The Position

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) Core Manufacturing (CM) Department is responsible for providing direction and oversight for the manufacture and delivery of reactor core components. CM employees assume substantial responsibility, leading the resolution of production issues while balancing cost, schedule, and technical requirements. Frequent and effective communication with the Core Vendor, Naval Reactors, and Prime interface organizations is a necessary function of the role. The newest team member will be responsible for providing direction for high-value reactor plant components during production and developing the manufacturing process and inspection methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • All candidates must be U.S. citizens.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter.
  • All candidates must be able to pass a drug test in compliance with FMP company policy and 10 CFR 707.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of statistical skills including, but not limited to, data collection and data mining, linear/nonlinear regression, ANOVA models, parametric/non-parametric techniques, experimental design, and quality control.
  • Experience in the development of reports and presentation of results through tables and charts, and interpretation of results.
  • Ability to effectively use statistical programs, such as SAS, Minitab, R, NCSS and @Risk.
  • Experience translating data for lay audience, including presentations for senior leadership.
