About The Position
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is an internationally accredited agency dedicated to protecting life and property, promoting traffic safety, and providing professional public safety services with respect, compassion, and unbiased professionalism. As a Statistician 1, you will assemble raw data from various sources such as fatal crash reports, driver and vehicle histories, and death certificates. You will sort and code this data into designated categories, organize it into a meaningful form, and prepare it for processing. Additionally, you will prepare reports, tables, and charts presenting statistical information, create elementary computer programs to extract data, and utilize spreadsheet software to prepare statistical tables and charts.
Requirements
- Completion of undergraduate core program in statistics.
- Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Responsibilities
- Assembles raw data collected from fatal crash reports, driver & vehicle histories, death certificates & supplemental documentation.
- Sorts &/or codes data into designated categories, organizes data into meaningful form & prepares reports for processing.

- Prepares elementary computer programs to extract data from system.
- Prepares statistical table & charts with spread sheet software.
