Requirements

  • Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in stationary machinery mechanics.
  • Possess computer skills (building management and maintenance software, Microsoft Office suite).
  • Be proficient in both French and English, spoken and written.
  • Good knowledge of pneumatic and digital control systems.
  • Availability to work evening and weekend shifts according to a set schedule.
  • Hold a valid Class 4 stationary machinery mechanic certificate (power production), Class B (refrigeration equipment), as well as Halocarbon certification.
  • Be legally authorized to work in Canada.

  • Knowledge of centralized building control systems (Regulvar Delta system) (an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance on machinery (boilers, chillers, fans, pumps, compressors) and on heating, ventilation, and refrigeration control systems.
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments, and prepare reports related to various equipment.
  • Respond to service calls and emergency situations.
  • Prepare required materials and submit material and equipment requisitions for approval.
  • Monitor building temperature and air quality.
  • Track electricity, natural gas, and heating oil consumption.
  • Operate and monitor heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
  • Plan and communicate mechanical maintenance activities and equipment shutdowns.
  • Replace a colleague on their shift, as needed.
  • Act as a support staff member during shifts, as needed.
