The Windsor, Quebec, Canada facility is looking for skilled individuals to fill the position of Machine Superintendent. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Requirements

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical engineering, or another relevant field. Training combined with relevant work experience may be considered equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry or in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience.
  • The ability to mobilize employees and collaborators to achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrate a high capacity for assimilation and rapid adaptation in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Bilingual English: required as part of this role, you will interact regularly with clients, partners, and/or our US subsidiaries, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and actively develop, with the team's help, performance improvement plans to achieve expected results in terms of performance indicators.
  • Promote awareness of health and safety at work through various interventions, communication methods, or specific training programs.
  • Work in conjunction with other operations and maintenance departments and service sectors to achieve plant priorities.
  • Work in close collaboration with employees in the paper machine and pulp preparation areas.
  • Ensure compliance with plant regulations, health and safety standards, the collective labor agreement, and environmental and quality standards.
  • Place a high level of importance on reliability, including planning, scheduling, and condition monitoring.
  • Use continuous improvement principles to resolve issues related to health and safety, environment, quality, production, and cost reduction.
