About The Position

The Station Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance. This role involves assisting with necessary repairs of equipment, property, and the building, maintaining accurate communication with other mechanics and departments, and effectively using electrical testing equipment. The position also requires identifying opportunities for improvement and communicating them to supervisors or lead persons, initiating and conducting routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment with minimal supervision, and maintaining shop 5s policies and cleanliness. Other duties as required.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skill including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to pass Prove It Test
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
• Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures
• Flexibility to work weekends as needed
• Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Nice To Haves

• Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred
• Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision

Responsibilities

• Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
