About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for assisting the maintenance department with plant maintenance. This role involves assisting with necessary repairs of equipment, property, and the building, maintaining accurate communication with other mechanics and departments, and effectively using electrical testing equipment. The mechanic will also support Station Mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment, identify opportunities for improvement, and initiate and conduct routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) with minimal supervision. Maintaining shop 6s policies and cleanliness is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to perform basic math skill including: addition, subtraction, division, multiplication and percentage calculations
• Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to pass Prove It Test
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and abilities in order to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience in the operation of maintenance power tools
• Knowledge of electric and mechanical procedures

Nice To Haves

• Two years’ experience in maintenance field preferred
• Have the ability to work with minimal direct supervision

Responsibilities

• Assist with the necessary repairs of equipment, property and the building.
• Maintains accurate communication to other mechanic and departments.
• Effectively uses electrical testing equipment.
• Supports Station Mechanic and operator basic functions of machinery and equipment
• Responsible to identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate those to supervisor or lead person.
• Initiates and conducts routine preventative maintenance (PM’s) on equipment by self or with minimal supervision.
• Maintain shop 6 s policies and cleanliness.
• Other duties as required.
