Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free work environment.
  • Enforce safe working methods and behaviors within the team.
  • Conduct safety audits and operations checks.
  • Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
  • Make sure everyone meets safety standards and respond quickly to requests for changes and unforeseen events.
  • Respond to emergencies as required.
  • Supervise day-to-day operations and provide feedback and ways to improve in OPS.
  • Implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage the station's budget to ensure financial efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor and manage the station's controllable margin by tracking and analyzing controllable costs and revenues (e.g., staff scheduling, sort cost).
  • Plan and oversee onboarding activities for new employees to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Monitor and maintain station facilities and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organization.
  • Conduct regular reviews with Independent Delivery Contractors (IDCs) to assess performance (QAR), address concerns, and discuss improvements.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and ensure they are up-to-date with company policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and support the team.
  • Manage and coordinate station staff and schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Conduct regular station audits and performance evaluations for staff and provide feedback to help them improve and grow in their roles.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly and professionally to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise.
  • Communicate regularly with upper management to provide updates and discuss improvements and cascade any changes down the chain.
  • Oversee inventory levels and ensure that all materials and supplies are adequately stocked and accounted for.
  • Implement and oversee loss prevention strategies to safeguard company assets, packages, and other goods.
  • Conduct regular audits, monitor for theft or fraud, and ensure all undelivered parcels are returned to the station at the end of the day.
  • In case of suspected theft, initiate investigations and coordinate with the Loss Prevention department and IDC relationship manager.
  • Maintain accurate logs (delivery, incident, inventory) and daily reports.
  • Prepare and monitor performance reports (on-time deliveries, exceptions, etc.).
  • Perform data entry as needed to maintain accurate records.
  • Evaluate and assess employee performance, workplace conduct and compliance as required, including discipline where appropriate.
  • Cleaning, general housekeeping.
  • Other duties as assigned.
