About The Position

The 90FM Station Manager is a student hourly position responsible for overseeing the station's operations, including financial management, staff supervision, and adherence to regulations. The role involves setting the station's direction, training staff, and ensuring compliance with FCC regulations, university policies, and the station's constitution. The Station Manager also serves as a liaison to the community and is responsible for equipment purchases and organizing fundraising events.

Requirements

  • Normal hours per week is 18 hours.
  • Must be a current student at one of the Universities of Wisconsin to apply through the internal application process.

Responsibilities

  • Establish budget priorities and monitor the station's financial operation.
  • Organize and lead weekly one-on-one and executive staff meetings.
  • Set the image and overall direction of the station.
  • Train, motivate, and supervise all other employees on the Executive Staff.
  • Prepare the Executive Staff for year-to-year transitions.
  • Ensure that WWSP operates in the public interest, convenience, and necessity as required by the Federal Communications Commission.
  • Guarantee that all pertinent rules and regulations of the Universities of Wisconsin, UW Stevens Point, and UW-Stevens Point Student Government Association are followed.
  • Ensure that all provisions of WWSP’s constitution are followed.
  • Work directly with the entire WWSP staff to ensure fair and professional service to UWSP students and listeners.
  • Purchase equipment and supplies necessary for WWSP’s operations with the advice and consent of the Technical Director, Business Director, IT Support Technician and Faculty Advisor.
  • Serve as the liaison person for individuals in the community and other organizations.
  • Enforce and adhere to 90FM Constitution and Policies and Procedures.
  • Lead the planning and execution of annual fundraisers for 90FM.
  • Organize and manage College Radio Day festivities.
  • Be available to assist and volunteer for operations related to annual fundraisers (Radiothon and Trivia) in support of the station.
