Perform all types of work involved in the construction, maintenance, rebuild, removal, operation, testing and inspection of energized or de-energized generation, transmission and distribution facilities. Assist in responding to emergency call-outs on station trouble and coordinating prompt restoration of service to customers as required. This role involves working on energized equipment up to 260 volts, and after six months, assisting with work on conductors and equipment energized at voltages above 750 volts with direct supervision. The position requires selecting proper prints and/or drawings, understanding them, and using various test equipment. Responsibilities include assisting in the maintenance and repair of station transformers, circuit breakers, rotating machinery, and other station equipment, as well as installing and maintaining station batteries. Tasks also involve assisting with station work such as installing conduit, pipe, cable, and wire, digging trenches, and climbing station structures. The role requires using various tapes, insulating materials, and understanding their application. It includes assisting in visual inspections, reading gauges, and applying start-run-stop tests on emergency generators and pumps. Replacing lamps, switches, and outlets, and installing/maintaining signal and communication systems are also part of the duties. The position involves assisting in electrical tests, station switching, checking equipment clearances, making de-energized tests, and placing grounds. Knowledge of steel and aerial lift rescue is required. The role also includes maintaining records, preparing reports, attending and participating in training, and assisting in training other employees. Use and operation of various company vehicles, specialized equipment, and hand/power tools are necessary. Performing duties incidental to the operation of such equipment, inspecting and storing personal protective equipment, and knowledge of various knots used in station work are also required. Performing similar or less skilled work as assigned, assisting employees of equal or higher classification, and directing the work of employees assigned to assist are expected. Adherence to the Company's safety rules, practices, resuscitation, First Aid, and operating regulations is mandatory.
