About The Position

Statewide Regional Coordinator - Northwest (Tallahassee) is a full-time, grant-funded opening at Tallahassee State College (TSC) with the Department of Juvenile Justice. The position is within the Office of Prevention Services and serves the Northwest region (Tallahassee). This role requires a flexible work schedule, including some weekends and evenings. The coordinator will engage with community stakeholders, provide technical assistance to contracted programs, ensure compliance, and draft reports. The position is based at the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice or a location designated by the Office of Prevention Services.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent and two years of related experience. A combination of education and experience may substitute for the required experience.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of training plans, curriculum, and instructional design and development, as well as the implementation and facilitation of technical, operational, and specialty training events and programs.
  • Skilled in teaching and facilitation, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in operating a personal computer and related software, and in utilizing equipment required for the position.
  • Able to assess training needs and objectives and to design, develop, implement, and evaluate responsive programs and initiatives, including training plans, curricula, and methodologies.
  • Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks, meeting deadlines, and prioritizing responsibilities with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Able to determine work priorities; plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments; solve problems; and make decisions.
  • Able to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to fiscal data and operational analysis activities.
  • Skilled in developing and organizing data in logical formats for reports, proposals, and other written documents.
  • Able to work independently and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Skilled in researching, analyzing, and interpreting state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Able to utilize problem-solving techniques and apply applicable operational and management requirements.
  • Able to organize data for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
  • Must be able to travel 2–4 hours away more than 50% of the time.
  • Must comply with the requirements set forth in Section 215.422, Florida Statutes (Prompt Payment Compliance Law).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and communicates with Office of Prevention Services management and stakeholders on concerns related to delinquency prevention; assists, when necessary, in carrying out duties and responsibilities of other Prevention Services activities.
  • Educates community stakeholders on delinquency prevention programming, research and polices; planning, coordination and participation in community outreach and engagement activities; coordinates and/or facilitates Prevention Services youth and community events; develops and maintains effective partnerships and affiliations with local community organizations.
  • Performs routine visits to contracted Prevention programs; provides technical assistance as needed, to contracted providers to ensures compliance with contracted terms and conditions; provides written summary of input and feedback with contracted providers.
  • Conducts routine observations through on-site visits; assists in the provision of technical assistance; in-service training and guidance on contractual issues statewide for Prevention services. The position will review provider deficiencies, assists in resolving deficiencies and resolve program related incidents.
  • Drafts quarterly and monthly reports and submit on a timely basis; evaluates data from outcome measures and requirements and make recommend to management; conduct annual property inventory.
