About The Position

Junior Achievement of Washington (JAWA) is seeking a Statewide Development Manager to lead corporate fundraising, sponsorships, and partnership development efforts. This role focuses on identifying and cultivating corporate partners, securing philanthropic support, managing donor relationships, and connecting businesses with volunteer and student engagement opportunities. The position involves working closely with development and program teams to create impactful partnerships that advance JAWA's mission of preparing young people for success in work and life. This is a hybrid opportunity, with an expectation of 2-3 days onsite per week in Auburn, Washington, reporting to the Chief Development Officer. JAWA is dedicated to inspiring and preparing young people to succeed in a global economy through hands-on learning experiences in financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship. The organization reaches thousands of students annually through partnerships with educators, volunteers, and business leaders, serving as a bridge between education and industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of seven years of successful fundraising experience, including corporate and foundation solicitation.
  • Candidates with a strong background in consultative sales, business development, or client relationship management will also be considered.
  • Experience with prospecting, pipeline development, client acquisition, achieving sales quotas, and building long-term partnerships is highly valued and transferable to this fundraising-focused role.
  • Demonstrated success securing corporate partnerships, sponsorships, grants, and philanthropic support.
  • Proven ability to meet fundraising goals, manage deadlines, and drive measurable results.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking, relationship building, and persuasive storytelling.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience maintaining confidential information and exercising sound professional judgment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising database platforms.
  • Data-driven approach to fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and performance analysis.
  • Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to execute both strategic and day-to-day fundraising activities.
  • Flexibility to attend occasional evening events and rare weekend activities.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel throughout Washington State.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of comprehensive fundraising strategies, including corporate annual giving, major gifts, sponsorships, grants, partnerships, and mission-focused campaign initiatives.
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate partners whose philanthropic goals align with JAWA's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Develop compelling donor and prospect materials, presentations, proposals, and stewardship communications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporations, foundations, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, and community stakeholders.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate partners, ensuring exceptional stewardship and long-term engagement.
  • Oversee annual, recurring, and special fundraising campaigns while providing timely reporting on progress and outcomes.
  • Analyze donor trends, fundraising performance, and partnership opportunities to inform future strategies and maximize results.
  • Maintain accurate prospect, donor, and funding records within fundraising systems and databases.
  • Assist with budget planning, revenue forecasting, expense tracking, and campaign reporting.
  • Partner with the Resource Development Committee to support strategic fundraising priorities and execute the annual development calendar.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to align corporate partnerships with student-facing programs and volunteer opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for corporate partners, ensuring seamless coordination between development and program teams.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to prospective partners, donors, and volunteer groups.
  • Recruit and engage corporate volunteers to support JAWA programs across the state.
  • Identify innovative opportunities that strengthen both fundraising outcomes and program impact.
