About The Position

The State Testing & Compliance Specialist reports directly to the Manager of Academic Operations and serves as a key partner to the Curriculum Team in supporting NHA’s organization-wide testing initiatives. This role leads the coordination and execution of NWEA MAP and state assessment programs across all schools, provides training and guidance to school-based coordinators, ensures compliance with testing requirements, and supports cross-functional projects that drive operational excellence and student achievement. National Heritage Academies (NHA) partners with communities to build and operate public charter schools. Requirements

  • 3-5 years of professional work experience
  • Self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to use technology fluently.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education is preferred.
  • teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support administration of NWEA MAP and state testing programs for all NHA schools, ensuring smooth operations across all testing windows.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for school-based test coordinators, providing policy guidance, troubleshooting support, and timely communication.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver testing resources and training materials, including handbooks, presentations, job aids, manuals, and staff support sessions.
  • Manage testing schedules, compliance requirements, database updates, and score adjustments to ensure accurate records and timely completion of key tasks.
  • Monitor test security, participation rates, and overall testing progress, ensuring required benchmarks and expectations are met.
  • Collaborate across departments, communicate proactively with stakeholders, and support school authorizers as needed.
  • Collaborate with Curriculum & Instruction team members and school leaders to obtain information, coordinate logistics, and ensure timely completion of tasks and deliverables.
  • Support other projects and initiatives, as assigned.
