About The Position
Village Caregiving is hiring State Tested Nursing Aides in Salem, Ohio to provide care to clients in their homes. The role includes supporting clients with medication, mobility, personal care, exercise, shopping, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. Aides communicate with caregivers, nurses, doctors, and family members about clients’ conditions and treatment plans, report unusual incidents, and respond responsibly to emergencies.
Requirements
- Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.
- Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
- Respectful and compassionate manner with good bedside manner.
- Outstanding communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Physical endurance to complete required tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Previous caregiver experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Help clients take prescribed medication.
- Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside, including attending doctor’s appointments and taking walks.
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
- Help clients complete physical therapy and other recommended exercises.
- Do clients’ shopping or accompany them while shopping when needed.
- Perform light housekeeping duties clients cannot complete on their own, including preparing meals.
- Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors, and family members.
- Report unusual incidents to nurses, doctors, and family members.
- Act quickly and responsibly in emergencies.
