About The Position

The State Pre-K Assistant Teacher instructs 4-year-old children according to each child’s needs and program requirements. The role supports children’s preparation for Kindergarten and beyond by providing daily care, implementing curriculum, creating interactive learning experiences, observing and assessing children, planning for their needs, and communicating with families. The assistant teacher follows licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements, and completes training on child care, preschool, and child development.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or an active CDA in Preschool.
• Experience in a licensed childcare center or a related field.
• Ability to meet state education requirements and center requirements.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.
• Energetic, dependable, and passionate approach to working with children.

Responsibilities

• Instruct 4-year-old children based on their individual needs and program requirements.
• Follow licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements to provide daily classroom care.
• Observe and assess children and plan for their needs.
• Communicate effectively with families.
• Implement curriculum and create fun, interactive learning experiences.
• Complete training on child care, preschool, and child development topics.
