About The Position

The State Pre-K Assistant Teacher instructs 4-year-old children according to each child’s needs and the requirements of the program. The role supports children in preparing for Kindergarten and beyond by providing daily care, observing and assessing children, planning for their needs, communicating with families, and implementing curriculum through fun, interactive learning experiences. The assistant teacher follows licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements and completes training in child care, preschool, and child development.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, or an active CDA in Preschool.
• Experience in a licensed childcare center or related field.
• Ability to meet state education requirements and center requirements.
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children.

Responsibilities

• Instruct 4-year-old children based on their individual needs and program requirements.
• Follow licensing guidelines, company standards, and grant program requirements to provide daily care for each child in the classroom.
• Observe and assess children and plan for their needs.
• Communicate effectively with families.
• Implement the curriculum and create fun, interactive learning experiences.
