About The Position

The Technician performs basic vehicle diagnostics and routine vehicle repair and maintenance in accordance with company standards and manufacturer specifications. The role is expected to provide exceptional 5 Star guest service by clearly communicating vehicle issues and proposed solutions and meeting guest expectations for service timing and quality.

Compensation is flat-rate and performance-based, with technicians earning $25.00–$40.00 per hour based on experience. Pay is based on eligible tasks completed and teammate productivity. The position may be full-time or part-time depending on business needs and is described as an hourly position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Automotive training in basic car maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Current valid driver’s license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
• Own a basic set of tools or participate in Monro’s tool purchase program.

Nice To Haves

• ASE certification.
• State Inspection license, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic vehicle diagnostics to identify required repairs.
• Complete the Courtesy Inspection process on every guest vehicle, documenting and communicating additional needed services and repairs.
• Audit courtesy inspections performed by General Service Technicians.
• Assist with inventory management, including pulling tires and parts, unloading, and stocking inventory.
• Assist with general store duties and maintain cleanliness and a guest-ready store in accordance with Monro standards.
• Perform services in accordance with company safety standards, including Wheel Torque and oil safety and compliance procedures.
• Test drive vehicles according to Monro’s Road Test policy, using dedicated routes and observing local traffic and safety laws.
• Follow company policies and procedures and governmental standards, including environmental codes and ANSI/OSHA standards.
• Consistently use required safety standards established by training, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain technical knowledge and proficiency by timely completing required Monro University training courses and modules.
• Operate, use, and maintain equipment safely according to Monro and manufacturer guidelines, including lifts, welders, and brake lathes.
• Perform other duties as assigned and required.
