About The Position
The Minnesota Star Tribune is seeking Subscription Team Members to support its State Fair Booth from August 27–September 7, with required training and orientation on August 20. Responsibilities include selling subscriptions, engaging with fair attendees, assisting customers with sign-up and general subscription questions, restocking merchandise, and maintaining a clean and organized booth area. Shift times for this position are between 8:45 a.m. and 9:15 p.m.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and communication skills with a friendly, engaging approach
- Comfortable interacting with Minnesota Star Tribune readers and fair attendees
- Willingness to learn basic onsite technology troubleshooting and use provided training materials
- Ability to quickly learn Star Tribune subscription offerings and talking points
- Able to work in a counter-height booth for up to 7 hours per day
- Available for at least 10 of 12 fair days, including weekends, with shifts between 8:45 a.m. and 9:15 p.m.
- Able to lift 20–40 lbs.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible, adaptable, and reliable in a fast-paced environment
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TM, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
