About The Position

The Minnesota Star Tribune is seeking customer-focused individuals to support its State Fair Booth Team during the Minnesota State Fair, assisting with merchandise sales, customer engagement, and booth operations from August 27–September 7, with a required training and orientation session on August 20. Shift times for this position are between 8:45 a.m. and 9:15 p.m.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TM, CPT, OPT, etc.).
Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, and customer engagement skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional customer service while engaging with Minnesota Star Tribune readers and fair attendees.
Promote and sell merchandise in a fast-paced event environment.
Represent the Minnesota Star Tribune professionally, building positive relationships with customers.
Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to achieve sales and service goals.
Maintain flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic event setting.
Stand and work in a sales booth for extended periods, up to 6 hours per day.
Commit to a minimum of 10 days during the 12-day fair, including weekend availability.
Be available for shifts ranging from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Lift and transport newspaper bundles and merchandise weighing up to 40 pounds.
