About The Position

The Start Up Technician will perform start up and repair of heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration equipment, as well as other products in accordance with company requirements and manufacturer specifications for our Residential New Construction Team. This role involves testing systems, identifying and repairing issues, and ensuring compliance with company standards. The technician will also be responsible for completing paperwork accurately and communicating any necessary changes or issues to management. Adherence to all company policies and procedures, including safety, is essential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Beginner computing skills and able to use a computer, laptop or tablet.
  • Basic proficiency in navigating the internet and email software such as Microsoft Outlook
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to work overtime with little notice; weekend hours may occasionally be required

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC trade school certification
  • 1-2 years’ experience in construction, HVAC or related experience
  • EPA Certification
  • Willingness to learn and be a part of a team
  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • Ability to build positive relationships with customers, both internal and external
  • Willingness and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
  • Safety mindset and acceptance of a safety culture

Responsibilities

  • Performs start up of heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration equipment, as well as other products in accordance with company requirements and manufacture specifications.
  • Tests systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Identifies any issues and follows-up with required repair to ensure all relevant components are working correctly to ensure compliance.
  • Completes all paperwork in a neat, accurate, thorough and timely manner.
  • Communicates to office and/or management regarding any additional work or issues that may require change order or adjustment.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures, including but not limited to safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.
