About The Position

Formlabs is seeking results-focused leaders/entrepreneurs who can rapidly identify, develop, and scale new product lines and ventures within Formlabs. The role requires a bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and deep ownership over outcomes. The contribution will span the product cycle, from deep R&D to global-scale shipping across hardware, software, materials science, and business functions. Formlabs is reinventing how the world makes physical things and is looking for individuals ready to shape the future of fabrication.

Requirements

• Technical background, likely with an engineering degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven entrepreneurial experience, such as building a business or significant venture (technology startup experience ideal).
• High tolerance for risk and a bias for action.
• Direct experience creating multi-disciplinary technology products and understanding the full lifecycle from ideation to scale.
• Ownership and hustle mindset to do whatever it takes.
• Ability to excel at hiring and leading teams in a constantly changing, high-standard environment.

Nice To Haves

• Robotics experience.
• Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science Degree, or related.
• Entrepreneurial experience, such as founding your own business.
• MBA or experience in a consulting role.
• Familiarity with manufacturing, regulatory, or product standards and compliance in industries like healthcare, pharma, or life sciences.
• Experience with 3D printing technologies and materials.
• Familiarity with Tableau or SQL.

Responsibilities

• Act as a mini-CEO to identify, develop, and scale new product lines and ventures.
• Build and lead multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, operators, and designers.
• Hire and mentor the next generation of Formlabs leaders.
• Roll up sleeves to build complex, electro-mechanical robotic products.
• Explore new technologies, applications, and market opportunities within R&D.
• Make crucial, high-stakes decisions impacting core technology and business trajectory.
• Take full ownership to get the job done at the intersection of complex disciplines (engineering, sales, manufacturing, marketing).
• Pitch customers, set up supply chains, and debug prototypes.
