As a Southern Star Starlink Technician, you will install and service Starlink high-speed satellite internet for homes in rural and underserved communities. The role includes installing equipment, helping customers get online, and explaining how to use their new service. Technicians may offer customers additional products and services during installations. Training and support are provided, with a career path from Starlink Technician to Senior Technician and Master Technician. Advancement brings additional skills and responsibility, as well as higher earning potential. Compensation includes hourly pay, commissions, and performance bonuses. Training/base pay is $17.00 per hour, with a $0.50 increase after 60 days of employment. After training, a guaranteed hourly rate of $20.00 applies through the first nine months; if the post-training base rate plus bonuses and commissions do not reach that amount, pay will be increased to the guaranteed rate. The role includes comprehensive insurance benefits, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, a company-paid $25,000 life insurance policy, and a monthly stipend for using a personal smartphone. A company vehicle is provided after training. Employees also receive discounts through LifeMart, including savings with home mortgage lenders. Travel of up to 20% may be required; lodging and per diem are covered by SSI.
