Starlink Installation Technician
About The Position
As a Southern Star Starlink Technician, you will install and service Starlink, the high-speed satellite internet connecting homes across rural and underserved communities. The role includes installing equipment, helping customers get online, and showing them how to use their new service. The position offers a career path from Starlink Technician to Senior Technician and Master Technician, with increasing technical skills, responsibilities, and earning potential. Compensation includes an hourly base rate, commissions, and performance bonuses. Training/base pay is $17.00 per hour, increasing by $0.50 after 60 days of employment. After training, the guaranteed hourly rate is $20.00 through the first nine months; if base pay plus bonuses and commissions do not reach that amount, pay is increased to the guaranteed rate. Paid training and ongoing support are provided. A company vehicle is provided after training is completed. The role requires willingness to travel up to 20% of the time; lodging and per diem are covered by SSI.
Requirements
- Strong technical knowledge.
- Ability to climb ladders up to 38 feet and work in crawl spaces.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong time management skills.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and Motor Vehicle Record check.
Responsibilities
- Install and service Starlink equipment.
- Help customers get online and explain how to make the most of their Starlink service.
- Offer customers additional products and services during installations.
- Progress toward advanced technician responsibilities, including more complex work and work across partner products and services.
