About The Position

The Starbucks Barista works on Target’s Food & Beverage team to provide guests with a consistent Starbucks experience and an easy, inspiring, and friendly shopping experience. The role includes preparing handcrafted beverages and food to recipe specifications, maintaining food quality and freshness, and carrying out food safety and operational routines. Baristas also support broader guest services and collaborate with team members in a fast-moving, physically active environment.

Requirements

• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times; report for scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks.
• Ability to work in refrigeration and freezer conditions and in the presence of common allergens.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements during duties such as Drive Up and carryout.
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts, which may vary in length.

• Previous Starbucks or food service experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Create a friendly guest experience by greeting guests, helping them find what they need, resolving issues, and thanking them at the end of transactions.
• Support team efforts, assist peers in other areas, and adjust to business and guest needs.
• Prioritize guest needs and maintain a fresh, abundant shopping experience throughout operating hours.
• Uphold Food & Beverage Standards and execute food and beverage processes, including deliveries, replenishment, inventory routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, organizing, and storing reserve product.
• Stay aware of current and future Starbucks promotions.
• Follow Target and Starbucks routines while completing tasks efficiently and maintaining food safety.
• Maintain an inviting dining area and engage with guests according to Starbucks standards.
• Prepare handcrafted beverages and food according to recipe cards.
• Monitor and record temperatures of sensitive food items and complete and record required cleaning tasks.
• Identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process them according to best practices.
• Place store-initiated orders and follow perishable inventory procedures to maintain accurate in-stocks and inventory records.
• Execute sampling best practices and complete required Starbucks quality-control training and certifications.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; follow safety policies and training, report hazards, and correct hazards where possible.
• Support guest services such as backup cashiering, order pickup, and Drive Up while following applicable compliance requirements, including adult beverage laws.
• Perform other duties based on business needs.
