About The Position

The Starbucks Barista works on Target’s Food & Beverage team to provide guests with a consistent Starbucks experience. The role involves preparing handcrafted beverages and food to recipe specifications, maintaining product quality and freshness, and following food safety, operational, and Starbucks standards. Baristas help create an easy, inspiring, and friendly guest experience while supporting team operations and responding to guest needs.

The role includes food and beverage replenishment, inventory and ordering routines, cleaning, product rotation, pricing and promotional signing, and maintaining an inviting dining area. Baristas also follow safety and compliance policies, complete required training and certifications, and may support cashiering, order pickup, and Drive-up services. The work is active and physically demanding, requires flexibility, and may involve refrigerated or freezer conditions, varying temperatures, and handling common allergens.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times; report as scheduled, work scheduled shifts, and take required meal and rest breaks.
• Ability to work in refrigeration and freezer conditions and in areas where common allergens may be handled or present.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements during duties such as Drive-up and carryout.
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift; shift length may vary.

• Uphold Food & Beverage standards and complete food and beverage processes, including deliveries, replenishment, inventory routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, organizing, and storing reserve product.
• Stay aware of current and upcoming Starbucks promotions and follow Target and Starbucks routines efficiently and safely.
• Maintain an inviting Starbucks dining area throughout the shift and engage with guests according to Starbucks standards.
• Prepare handcrafted beverages and food according to recipe cards and product specifications.
• Follow food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperatures for temperature-sensitive food items.
• Complete and record cleaning tasks in the Starbucks area.
• Identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process them according to best practices.
• Place store-initiated orders and follow perishable inventory procedures to maintain accurate in-stocks and inventory records.
• Execute sampling best practices and complete required quality-control training and certifications.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; follow safety policies and training, report hazards, and correct hazards when possible.
• Support guest services, including backup cashiering, order pickup, and Drive-up, while following applicable compliance requirements.
• Perform other duties based on business needs.
