About The Position

This role prepares coffee shop beverages and food, operates the cash register, and receives payment promptly and efficiently while providing courteous customer service. The associate follows established standards for beverage and food preparation, safe food handling, cleanliness, cash handling, and customer service. The position may also include tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Good verbal communication skills and the ability to interact politely and effectively with customers.
• Good customer service and organizational skills; attention to detail.
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
• Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare coffee shop beverages by brewing, mixing, or blending according to set standards.
• Prepare food items according to procedures.
• Handle food and beverages safely, follow established guidelines, and complete work in a clean environment.
• Operate the cash register, itemize customer purchases, and process payments including cash, checks, credit cards, gift certificates, and coupons.
• Stock items and rotate coffee items and merchandise displays.
• Maintain an understanding of current store programs and product locations.
• Use check-stand and coffee shop equipment efficiently.
• Notify the department lead or manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
• Follow company policies for security, cash handling and cash-drawer accounting, and product handling, including damaged or spoiled products.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked department and follow company safety and sanitation procedures and standards.
• Communicate company programs, in-store specials, and coupons to customers, and model high standards of service.
• Follow PPE and safety guidelines, food safety and cleaning expectations, and guest experience guidelines.
• Perform tasks in other departments as assigned to meet customer experience needs.
• Take on additional responsibilities as needed.
