About The Position

The Starbucks Barista works on Target’s Food & Beverage team to provide guests with a consistent Starbucks experience and a welcoming, helpful shopping experience. The role includes preparing handcrafted Starbucks beverages and food to recipe specifications, maintaining product quality and freshness, and supporting food safety, inventory, presentation, and operational standards. Baristas also maintain an inviting dining area, engage with guests, and may assist with other guest services such as backup cashiering, order pickup, and Drive Up. The work is active and fast-paced, involves teamwork and flexibility, and requires following Target and Starbucks routines, food-safety requirements, and safety and compliance policies. Previous Starbucks or food-service experience is preferred but not required; training is provided.

Ability to scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including frequent lifting or moving of products up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting or moving of merchandise up to 44 pounds without assistance.
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times; report for scheduled shifts and take required meal and rest breaks.
Ability to work in refrigeration and freezer conditions, where common allergens may be present or handled, and in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements during duties such as Drive Up and carryout.
Ability to remain mobile for the duration of scheduled shifts, which may vary in length.
Previous Starbucks or food-service experience is preferred but not required.

Deliver a fresh, abundant shopping experience and prioritize guests’ needs over tasks.
Uphold Food & Beverage standards and execute food and beverage processes, including deliveries, replenishment, inventory routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing and storing reserve product.
Stay aware of current and upcoming Starbucks promotions.
Follow Target and Starbucks routines to provide a consistent guest experience, work efficiently, and maintain food safety.
Maintain an inviting Starbucks dining area and engage with guests according to Starbucks standards.
Prepare handcrafted beverages and food to recipe-card specifications.
Monitor and record temperatures of temperature-sensitive food items and follow food-safety requirements.
Complete and record cleaning tasks in the Starbucks area.
Identify damaged, recalled, or expired items and process them according to best practices.
Place store-initiated orders and follow perishable inventory procedures to maintain accurate in-stocks and inventory records.
Execute sampling best practices and complete required Starbucks product quality-control training and certifications.
Demonstrate ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; follow safety policies and training, report hazards, and correct them where possible.
Support guest services such as backup cashiering, order pickup, and Drive Up, while complying with applicable adult beverage laws when performing those duties.
Perform other duties based on business needs.
