Standard Products Engineer

ITW•Lake Forest, CA

About The Position

The Standard Products Engineer supports the performance, quality, and efficiency of current products through component design and analysis, engineering methods, testing, and inspection. The role develops and/or executes solutions to improve product efficiency, troubleshoot product performance issues, and implement corrective actions at the Global Tool Unit’s Libertyville and Lake Forest locations. The engineer works as part of the Standard Products Engineering team, identifies design and efficiency gaps in parts, products, and processes, and recommends and implements improvements, especially in mechanical subsystem design. The role includes developing component designs and drawings using CAD (Creo), applying engineering and physics principles, interpreting data to resolve problems, and working with multidisciplinary teams. Decisions should take engineering, manufacturing, and business or market needs into account. The work takes place in an office and manufacturing environment. Employees may occasionally encounter fumes, airborne particles, climate variances, and moving mechanical equipment. Office noise is usually low and may be higher in manufacturing areas. Certain personal protective equipment is required in manufacturing areas. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
