About The Position

Summit Stairs & Millwork delivers high quality stair systems and millwork products through craftsmanship, innovation, and operational excellence. We partner with builders and contractors to ensure precision, safety, and a finished product that enhances every home. Summit combines field expertise with strong customer relationships to serve residential markets with reliability and consistency. We’re looking for hands-on Stair Builders to join our production team and help us craft both standard and custom stair systems with precision and pride. In this role, you’ll work with a variety of tools and materials to assemble stair components, maintain a clean and safe work area, and meet daily production goals. You’ll report directly to the Production Manager and play a key part in delivering the quality our customers count on.

Requirements

  • Ability to measure materials and mark reference points, cutting lines, or other indicators accurately.
  • Capability to work effectively in a high-paced team environment to meet daily production goals.
  • Comfort working in a dusty and noisy environment while operating machines and tools.
  • Physical ability to: Lift 65 pounds from ground level to standing position and 20 pounds above head.
  • Physical ability to: Pull 20 pounds from standing and kneeling positions, including above head.
  • Physical ability to: Stand and/or walk for an 8-10-hour shift.
  • Physical ability to: Frequently bend and stoop during an 8-10-hour shift.
  • Entry-level position: background in physical labor preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using multiple types of woodworking equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Construct standard and unique custom stairs, including circular and open stairs, or stair components.
  • Safely operate tools and equipment, including saws (circular, jig, reciprocating, and compound miter), planers, and pneumatic equipment, to build custom staircases.
  • Organize stair and millwork supplies to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
  • Perform other special projects and shop/warehouse duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
