The main objective of the Industrial Intern (Production, Maintenance, Optimization and Systems) is to provide support in all aspects of industrial, production, and systems project activities. The intern will have the opportunity to become familiar with the cement industry, industrial equipment, and the maintenance of this equipment.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a CEGEP program in mechanical or industrial engineering, or a university engineering program.
• MS Office, Google Suite, and SAP.
• Knowledge of project management, cost control, and planning.
• Ability to multitask and excellent organizational skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• High motivation to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and the appropriate use of personal protective equipment ("PPE") approved by Amrize, including but not limited to respirators.
• Employees required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in heavy industry (including internships) is an asset.
• Preferred field of study: Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Knowledge of cement technology is an asset.
• Experience with SAP PRD, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Respects and ensures full compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
• Ensures that all contracts and sites meet the requirements of Lafarge's safety policy.
• Ensure that procedures are documented and updated (e.g., LOTOTO registers).
• Participates in the review of various safety procedures, maintenance programs, and optimization projects.
• Assists in analyzing and proposing solutions to recurring reliability problems.
• Supports teams in evaluating and improving operational plans.
• Assists teams to ensure practices comply with plant standards.
• Facilitates the coordination, planning, and support of operational activities.
• Provides performance analyses and recommendations for improvement.
• Demonstrates a commitment to communicate, improve, and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promotes a safety culture and demonstrates these behaviors.
