Stagiaire curatorial·e AAMD / AAMD Curatorial Intern
About The Position
The AAMD Curatorial Intern joins the Publications team to develop content for the CCA website related to its current and future exhibition program, in particular the exhibition on view in the Main Galleries until January 2027, titled The fortune of the city is that it has never been perfect. The nature of the exhibition project and of the CCA website as a whole offers the AAMD Curatorial Intern the opportunity to interact with staff in the Collection, Programs, and Communications divisions, thus gaining insight into how a curatorial project is produced and communicated at the CCA. In addition, the AAMD Curatorial Intern has the opportunity to work alongside and learn from the participants in the Curatorial Internship Program, which begins in October. The AAMD Curatorial Intern works closely with the Editor, CCA Website and the Associate Director, Publications with the goal of developing a strong mentorship-driven relationship to ensure there are opportunities for conversation, feedback, direction, and questions, as well as longer-term career advice.
Requirements
- Residing in Canada and enrolled in a registered program at a university, community college or Cegep in any field related to architecture, design, photography, visual culture, and/or related fields.
- Writing skills and ability to communicate clearly in French and/or English.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with outreach programs aimed at developing more inclusive audiences is considered an asset.
Responsibilities
- Identifies relevant opportunities in CCA exhibitions and related public programs for creating and publishing content on the CCA website.
- Develops content for the CCA website in collaboration with CCA staff.
- Collaborates with the CCA Public and Communications teams to disseminate exhibition content to local communities in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang/Montréal.
- At the end of the internship period, drafts a written report summarizing the activities developed throughout the internship and suggesting ways for publishing exhibition-related content on the CCA website.
