About The Position

We're looking for a reliable and organized Stage Supervisor to join our team! Help keep our stages safe, organized, and running smoothly throughout the festival. This temporary position runs from Jul. 19-27 and works nightly throughout the event on the festival site near Salmo, BC. The Stage Supervisor will manage the stage crew workers by keeping accurate timesheet records, ensure the safety of the crew, and report any crew or safety issues to Human Resources immediately. They will maintain communications and the relay of information between the remote stage locations and the downtown operations, including Human Resources and Crew Kitchen.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills, radio experience an asset.
  • At least 3 years festival experience; supervisory experience is an asset.
  • Comfortable and effective in a supervisory position; troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Maintain awareness of the environment, sense of responsibility for others as well as the company image.
  • Courteous, Competent and Persuasive.
  • Flexible and able to respond to changes in conditions.
  • Proven ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse work space without personal judgments or bias.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate timesheets and submit daily.
  • Perform daily tailgates and safety sign-offs.
  • Manage meal allocations and communicate with the HR Catering Administrator to provide accurate data.
  • Assists crew in operation during peak times and facilitates breaks.
  • Analyze operations and find weaknesses to be addressed.
  • Help to manage inventory and anticipate any requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with WCB and Shambhala standards of safe work.
  • Requires tact and dexterity in managing issues throughout the chain of command.
  • Work with staff to eliminate errors in meal/scheduling information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
