About The Position

Canyon Creek Behavioral Health is a 102-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in Temple, Texas. The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for keeping all hospital units fully staffed to ensure proper patient care. This role involves creating and managing the master scheduling software system (Shift Wizard), adjusting staffing levels based on census fluctuations, call-ins, and planned leaves to ensure adequate coverage. The Staffing Coordinator is a key member of the Nursing Management Team and reports directly to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required
Must maintain a valid driver's license in the applicable state.
Successful completion Handle with Care Training, Service Excellence Training, and CPR certification required. Certifications must be obtained during new hire orientation.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business or related field.
Two (2) years of related experience in hospital with staffing/scheduling responsibilities for all shifts for clinical and nursing personnel preferred; will consider business office and/or human resources experience, preferably in a health care setting; or any combination of education, training or experience in a hospital business office.

Responsibilities

Provide daily staffing of RN’s, LVN’s and MHT’s
Responsible for maintaining business rules, administering shifts and approving shift assignments in the nurse scheduling software program.
Communicate with CEO, CFO, CNO and all Nurse Supervisors regarding floor orientation scheduling for newly hired employees in the nursing department.
