Staffing Assistant (.75 FTE Evening)

About The Position

The Staffing Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day staffing and scheduling operations of the Staffing Office. The role collects census and related information from clinical units, uses staffing protocols and decision trees to deploy staff across nursing-unit shifts, and maintains accurate schedules in the Laborworkx system. The position staffs to grids under the supervision of the Patient Flow Manager, documents and communicates employee absences, and assigns adequate staffing days in accordance with policy. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to multitask using the phone and a computerized scheduling program.
Good organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
Oral, written, and personal computer skills to communicate information efficiently to all customers.

Nice To Haves

One year of staffing/scheduling experience, Nursing Assistant experience, and/or Health Unit Coordinator experience.

Responsibilities

Collect incremental census and related information from each clinical unit at predetermined intervals.
Use staffing protocols and decision trees to deploy staff on all shifts for nursing units.

Maintain accurate unit schedules in the Laborworkx system.
Document and communicate employee absences to nursing units.
Assign adequate staffing days in accordance with policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.
