About The Position

We are looking for caring and enthusiastic individuals to join a progressive non-profit organization as Staffed Living Manager, in a full-time, 40 hours per week position working in an adult group home setting in Revelstoke, BC. Individuals in the home have developmental disabilities, physical disabilities and some minor mental health or medical issues. Many have physical limitations and need full care support. The right candidate shall possess strong management experience with good written and verbal communication skills, a valid BCDL class 4 and in good standing with CLPNBC. This is a full-time temporary position, 40 hours per week. Regular hours of work are between Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm with some flexibility (Off and On on-call for weekends and stat holidays). Strive is a non-profit registered charity providing residential and community inclusion supports to children, youth, adults, and older adults throughout the lower mainland since 1988. Strive ensures the health and safety of all employees by acting with an abundance of caution and adhering to guidelines from the Ministry of Health, mandating regular safety training, and providing employees with access to personal protective equipment.

Requirements

  • Registered LPN preferred
  • Minimum of one year of management experience in residential or health care setting
  • Awareness of and respect for the human rights of persons-in-care
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good organization and time management abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Sound judgment and decisiveness in the event of emergency
  • Familiarity with computers and proficiency in Microsoft platform

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of a Residential Home
  • Ensuring the health and safety and a high standard of care for clients
  • Scheduling, supervising, and evaluating staff
  • Working with health care professionals to identify client needs
  • Develop individual plans, protocols, and schedules
  • Rotating on-call duties
