About The Position

The ARA Transportation Division is seeking an experienced, high-energy transportation research analyst for a full-time position in Baton Rouge, LA; Madison, WI; Egg Harbor Township, NJ; or Mechanicsburg, PA. We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and examining business processes. You will be actively involved in many aspects of the consulting research profession, which includes problem solving, using subject matter knowledge and innovation to offer quality solutions to our clients, marketing to bring in new business, and writing high-quality proposals. This position will include the ability to lead portions of projects, exhibiting some freedom to be innovative and self-directed along with an ability to pursue projects and tasks that are interesting and meaningful. At the same time, candidates must be able to follow through on work as a member of an integrated team and exhibit a collegial and professional demeanor towards colleagues and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil/transportation engineering, construction management, urban planning, business, or public administration.
  • 5+ years of industry experience, to include:
  • Transportation research project development
  • Research and technology deployment for US DOT, state transportation agencies, and/or transit agencies.
  • Expertise in innovation and research management, business process improvement, general administration, and public policy.
  • Basic graphic design and data analysis skills.
  • Proven record of project management.
  • Experience with project management tools and scheduling programs

Responsibilities

  • Perform project work in one or more areas related to transportation innovation and research management.
  • Assist in business development and marketing efforts.
  • Develop winning proposals in response to RFPs.
  • Present research and information at conferences, training courses, industry meetings, department meetings, client meetings, etc.
  • Produce written memoranda and literature reviews.
  • Develop and execute surveys and data collection efforts.
  • Prepare presentations and outreach materials reflecting research project outcomes.
