About The Position

Crusoe is seeking an engineer-rooted Staff Technical Program Manager to own the end-to-end release lifecycle for versioned firmware and software baselines across its GPU fleet. The role covers release scoping and definition, qualification, validation, phased rollout, and production deployment. The TPM will coordinate complex releases across Compute, Networking, Storage, Orchestration, and Operations, and build release calendars, validation frameworks, and metrics that support predictable scaling. The position requires technical depth, execution rigor, and the ability to earn trust with engineers and vendors while working across teams without direct authority. The TPM will identify risks early, align engineering leads, and provide leadership with clear, data-driven decision points. This is a full-time position.

Requirements

  • 10+ years as a Technical Program Manager in infrastructure, hardware, or platform engineering, including release or change management at fleet scale.
  • Working knowledge of the server firmware stack, including BMC, BIOS, GPU firmware and drivers, and NIC and switch firmware.
  • Proven experience running validation or qualification programs across many engineering teams without direct authority.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and drive mitigation plans and rollback strategies for live production environments.
  • Track record of creating fit-for-purpose frameworks, such as release calendars, validation gates, and metrics.
  • Ability to translate complex technical status into clear, data-driven updates and decision-ready recommendations.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience at a GPU cloud provider or hyperscaler managing large-scale fleets of thousands of nodes.
  • Track record of driving firmware currency and compliance programs across a production fleet.
  • Hands-on experience with vendor escalation management, including driving OEM/ODM and silicon partners to fix and validate firmware on tight timelines.
  • Familiarity with AI accelerator platforms and dependencies between firmware, drivers, and cluster networking.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Own versioned firmware and software baselines from scoping and definition through qualification, validation, phased rollout, and production deployment across a large GPU fleet.
  • Drive cross-functional releases across Compute, Networking, Storage, Orchestration, and Operations; establish entry and exit criteria, layered validation, domain sign-offs, and go/no-go decisions.
  • Coordinate upgrades on live production clusters with Operations and customer-facing teams, including maintenance planning, rollback strategies, and risk mitigation.
  • Partner with engineering leads to make decisions on security patches and CVEs and incorporate them into the release train.
  • Manage relationships with OEMs, ODMs, component suppliers, and silicon suppliers on firmware fixes, validation timelines, and roadmaps; escalate and resolve schedule risks.
  • Design scalable release calendars, validation frameworks, Jira workflows, and metrics to make the release process predictable as the fleet grows.
  • Maintain real-time visibility into release health, map cross-team dependencies, and provide executive updates highlighting decisions and trade-offs.
  • Lead retrospectives after major releases and incorporate lessons into the process.
  • Apply AI tools to improve program tracking, risk detection, and communication.
