About The Position

Alteryx is seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager (P5) to lead strategic platform and trust transformation initiatives that drive critical business metrics. The role oversees execution across multiple engineering organizations and influences technical strategy, operating models, and organizational priorities that support the long-term evolution of the Alteryx platform.

The Staff TPM partners with Engineering, Product, Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, SRE, and executive leadership to align investment strategy, resolve cross-organizational dependencies, establish scalable delivery mechanisms, and improve engineering effectiveness. The position calls for deep technical expertise, strong program leadership, systems thinking, and executive influence to address ambiguous, enterprise-scale challenges.

Requirements

• Demonstrated success leading enterprise-scale technical programs across multiple engineering organizations.
• Ability to influence architecture, organizational priorities, and executive decision-making without direct authority.
• Deep understanding of cloud-native platforms, distributed systems, infrastructure, security, identity, observability, and modern software architecture.
• Experience managing multi-year technology transformation initiatives with complex organizational dependencies.
• Exceptional executive communication skills, including experience presenting to VP- and C-level audiences.
• Strong business acumen and ability to connect technical investments to measurable customer and business outcomes.
• Expertise establishing program governance, delivery metrics, portfolio reporting, and organizational operating mechanisms.
• Experience leveraging AI to improve engineering planning, execution, communication, and operational efficiency.

• Experience building or scaling TPM organizations.
• Experience developing engineering operating models.
• Experience in enterprise SaaS, AI platforms, analytics platforms, or cloud infrastructure.

• PMP, SAFe, Scrum, AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategy and execution of high-priority platform and trust initiatives across multiple engineering organizations.
• Partner with architecture and engineering leaders to influence technical direction and align long-term platform investments with business strategy.
• Drive portfolio-level planning, sequencing, and prioritization across concurrent programs, balancing engineering capacity, customer commitments, and strategic objectives.
• Establish operating mechanisms to improve organizational planning, dependency management, decision-making, and execution predictability.
• Lead executive governance forums, quarterly planning, investment reviews, and cross-functional decision-making.
• Anticipate organizational risks and proactively drive mitigation strategies.
• Improve engineering effectiveness through scalable program management practices, metrics, automation, AI-assisted workflows, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coach and mentor Senior TPMs and establish technical program management standards and best practices.
