About The Position

As a Staff Technical Product Manager, Configuration Management at Relativity Space, you will own the strategy, architecture, and evolution of enterprise-wide configuration management systems and workflows supporting the Terran R program. You will develop scalable solutions that ensure product configuration accuracy, engineering change control, and end-to-end traceability across design, manufacturing, test, and launch. The role combines technical product management, systems engineering, and software integration, with a focus on translating operational challenges into reliable, automated, and scalable technical solutions. You will define the technical strategy, roadmap, and architecture for configuration management systems and workflows; optimize processes for engineering changes, product structures and bills of materials, revision control, configuration baselines, and product lifecycle traceability; and lead the integration of PLM, ERP, and MES platforms. Working across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, reliability, and software teams, you will translate requirements into software solutions, drive automation and digital transformation, and establish configuration management standards, data governance, and change control practices. The Reliability team embeds quality throughout Terran R’s design and production process, partnering with design, manufacturing, test, and launch teams. As the program advances toward production and scaled operations, the team establishes processes, controls, and systems that support growth while balancing risk and maintaining reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical product management, systems engineering, software engineering, or a related technical role within an advanced manufacturing or complex hardware development environment.
  • Deep understanding of configuration management principles, including engineering change control, BOM management, product structures, revision control, and configuration baselines.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or integrating enterprise systems such as PLM, ERP, or MES, with a strong understanding of how engineering data flows across manufacturing and supply chain operations.
  • Proficiency in programming languages or technical tools such as Python, SQL, JavaScript, Java, or C#, with the ability to understand system architecture, data models, and integration requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional technical initiatives, influence stakeholders, and develop scalable solutions that balance engineering rigor with operational efficiency.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with configuration management systems and processes in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with PLM platforms such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, or Dassault Systèmes ENOVIA.
  • Experience developing automated engineering change workflows, integrating enterprise applications through APIs, or building custom configuration management tools.
  • Knowledge of configuration management standards and best practices, including AS9100, EIA-649, or related aerospace quality requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the technical strategy, roadmap, and architecture for configuration management systems and workflows, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with engineering, manufacturing, and business requirements.
  • Architect and optimize end-to-end configuration management processes, including engineering change management, product structure and bill of materials (BOM) management, revision control, configuration baselines, and product lifecycle traceability.
  • Lead the development and integration of enterprise systems, including PLM, ERP, and MES platforms, to establish a consistent, accurate source of product configuration data across the organization.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, reliability, and software teams to translate technical and operational requirements into scalable software solutions that improve efficiency, data integrity, and change execution.
  • Drive automation and digital transformation initiatives to streamline engineering change workflows, eliminate manual processes, and improve visibility into product configurations throughout the hardware lifecycle.
  • Establish and enforce configuration management standards, data governance practices, and change control processes to ensure consistency, traceability, and compliance across the Terran R program.
