About The Position

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join the Specialized Tactical Electronic Warfare Systems (STEWS) team in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. The role contributes to the design, development, and modernization of systems including airborne radar, radio-frequency and infrared countermeasure systems, laboratory test stations, and transportable flight-line electronic combat system test sets. The engineer will identify and drive future technology updates and introduce technologies to address current and anticipated obsolescence in fielded systems. The successful candidate applies systems engineering principles to deliver innovative, affordable, reliable solutions that meet customer needs, performance parameters, and program goals. The position leads multidisciplinary engineering teams through system design, integration, and test; develops and maintains system and subsystem specifications and documentation; and researches, designs, develops, and simulates electronic warfare systems and real-time processing algorithms. The engineer also performs analysis and trade studies, allocates requirements, defines interfaces, and presents briefings and demonstrations to management and external customers. Occasional travel is required; the posting states travel is 25% of the time.
