About The Position

The Staff Solutions Architect is a senior consultative technical leader across the customer lifecycle, from pre-sales solution design through implementation, go-live, and ongoing platform optimization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Solutions Architecture, this role leads architecture for complex, strategic customer deployments, establishes integration best practices across RESTful APIs and webhooks, and mentors other Solutions Architects. The position partners with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to translate sophisticated business requirements into scalable technical solutions that accelerate customer time-to-value and support Checkr’s growth.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience in technical consulting, professional services, solutions engineering, or a related customer-facing technical architecture role supporting complex enterprise accounts.
• Deep technical expertise in RESTful APIs, webhooks, and modern system integration architectures across the customer lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience integrating HCM, ATS, or enterprise workforce management platforms with third-party software and APIs.
• Ability to lead technical strategy and communicate effectively with executive leadership and engineering teams in both pre-sales and post-sales contexts.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor technical peers, drive cross-functional alignment with Product and Engineering, and use data querying and analysis to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Strong bias for action, resilience amid ambiguity, ownership, urgency, and commitment to delivering meaningful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and architectural discussions with Sales during pre-sales, shaping solution design and scoping for prospective and strategic existing customers.
• Design and present scalable, end-to-end solution architectures, including RESTful API and webhook integration patterns, tailored to customer workflows and business requirements.
• Lead implementation and technical delivery for strategic enterprise deployments, overseeing technical work from initial design through go-live.
• Conduct technical optimization engagements for existing customers, identifying architectural improvements to increase adoption, reduce friction, and expand use cases.
• Act as a senior technical escalation point across the Solutions Architecture organization, triaging and driving resolution of complex, service-impacting integration challenges.
• Mentor and coach Solutions Architects, and define technical standards, best practices, and internal and external collateral to elevate team capabilities.
