About The Position

Circadia Health is a growth-stage healthcare AI company focused on preventing hospitalizations and improving senior-care operations through its Circadia Intelligence Platform. This platform integrates contactless sensing for vital sign monitoring with predictive models to detect adverse events early. The platform also includes enterprise integrations to operationalize these predictions within existing healthcare workflows. The company's technology currently serves over 40,000 patients daily across various senior-care settings and is supported by prominent healthcare and AI investors. The role of the Staff Software Engineer is crucial for building and enhancing the 'last mile' of this platform, ensuring that critical patient predictions reach care teams effectively. This involves developing responsive interfaces, robust backend services, and customer-specific integrations, while also contributing to the overall architectural direction and technical leadership of the team.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience shipping production software full-stack.
  • Technical ownership of at least one significant production system.
  • Strong Python skills, including experience with FastAPI and Pydantic.
  • 3+ years of experience building production React applications.
  • Experience integrating with third-party systems that are not under direct control.
  • Direct experience working with external customers or stakeholders.
  • Practical experience with AWS, containerized deployment, relational and NoSQL databases, and test-driven development with PyTest.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare integrations: HL7, FHIR, ADT feeds, EHR vendor systems.
  • Experience with HIPAA compliance or other regulated software.
  • Prior experience in forward-deployed, solutions, or implementation engineering.
  • Significant open-source contributions, experience with systems that have outlasted their initial tenure, or a high-bar engineering background.

Responsibilities

  • Build the Circadia Intelligence Platform, including responsive interfaces in React for care staff, state management, reusable components, and performance optimization.
  • Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python and FastAPI, ensuring stability as the user base grows.
  • Engage in customer development and integrations, creating features and workflows for specific operators and integrating with systems like PointClickCare, Homecare Homebase, and WellSky using various protocols (HL7 v2, FHIR, REST, SFTP, CDC).
  • Provide technical leadership, including architectural direction, mentorship, and resolving design disputes.
