About The Position

Cloaked is hiring a Staff Software Engineer to build across its consumer privacy platform, including identity, data-removal, and payments products such as Cloaked Pay. The role works across the stack on systems serving millions of users and built on a zero-knowledge, end-to-end-encrypted architecture. The engineer will contribute to the development of AI-native consumer products and take on the platform’s hardest technical problems as the company scales.

Requirements

Significant experience building and shipping production software end-to-end, ideally at a consumer or growth-stage company.
Strong frontend fundamentals and experience building high-quality, responsive user interfaces.
Proficiency in Python or a similar object-oriented language, with experience building scalable backend systems.
Experience designing and deploying secure, production-grade APIs.
Strong understanding of databases, ORMs, and backend architecture patterns.
A track record of owning end-to-end systems and delivering high-quality, scalable software, with sound architectural and system-design judgment.
Familiarity with modern tooling, testing, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

Lead the roadmap and implementation of owned features, identifying improvements that enable functionality for existing and new products.
Take ownership of greenfield products and help build new products.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend, backend, and design.
Work across the frontend and backend to build features and improve the customer experience.
Solve challenging technical problems as the company scales its customer base.
Connect frontend and backend teams and elevate the broader engineering team.
