About The Position

As a Staff Software Engineer - Integration Architect supporting North America (NA) and Latin America & Caribbean (LACA), you will lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable payment processor integrations. You will partner with business, product, operations, and external financial institutions to enable seamless money movement. The role uses cloud-native architectures, modern integration patterns, and AI-assisted engineering practices to define reusable solutions that accelerate partner onboarding, improve reliability and operational efficiency, and support regional business growth. The position provides technical leadership for payment processor, banking, and financial institution integrations, while establishing integration frameworks, API standards, and engineering practices. You will develop AWS-based microservices and highly available, secure solutions using event-driven architectures and Kafka-based messaging. You will also lead modernization of legacy platforms, help teams adopt AI-assisted engineering tools, and advise regional stakeholders and partners. The position is hybrid, with an expectation to work from the office at least three days per week. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; Western Union will not sponsor work visas for this position.
