About The Position

QinetiQ US is seeking an experienced Software Developer for a hands-on software development role supporting leading-edge military hardware systems and products. The role involves creating a broad range of applications and products, including maritime systems for submarines and surface ships, and unmanned ground vehicles. Development follows an established process and uses tools to support the software development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering and at least 3 years of hands-on experience, or a master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent and at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience developing C/C++ applications for microcontrollers.
• Knowledge and experience working within the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Flexible, self-started, and motivated to solve problems.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance if required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience developing C++ applications for Linux.
• Motor control software development experience.
• Experience with bus protocols such as CAN, SPI, RS232, and I2C.
• UI development experience.
• Experience working with distributed architectures.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced environment on an engineering team to deliver maritime and land solutions for the U.S. Military.
• Assist in designing new software subsystems and modifying existing designs.
• Implement well-defined software communication protocols for internal and external subsystem communications.
• Integrate sensors and other payloads into new and existing products.
• Leverage AI to improve productivity.
• Work with other engineering disciplines to solve complex problems.
• Participate in software requirements reviews, preliminary and critical design reviews, and software acceptance reviews.
• Develop products that have a meaningful impact on U.S. Military capabilities.
