About The Position

Verkada is seeking an IT Security Leader to partner with the IT team and other system owners to set requirements and priorities for IT infrastructure security. Reporting to the CISO, this role designs, implements, and continuously improves systems that protect employees, data, and operations, leveraging AI and automation where possible. The position also supports risk management, compliance, and incident response operations.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
7+ years of experience as a security engineer or IT systems engineer working on security.
Understanding of security weaknesses, exploits, attacks, and mitigations.
Strong understanding of identity management, endpoint security, and cloud-based SaaS environments.
Ability to write Python scripts for security and compliance automation.
Experience aligning on security risks and plans with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Outstanding written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Manage and implement the corporate AI security strategy.
Design and implement identity and access management controls, including SSO, MFA, RBAC, conditional access policies, and Zero Trust Network Access.
Lead endpoint security strategy, including MDM, EDR, DLP, and device hardening.
Define and enforce security best practices across the organization.
Partner with IT, Engineering, and Security teams to secure internal systems, endpoints, SaaS applications, and corporate infrastructure.
Support compliance efforts, including SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
Build security automation, tooling, and agents through an orchestration platform to ensure security best practices and governance.
Respond to internal security events and alerts.
Support risk management, compliance, and incident response operations.
