Wiley Drilling, is seeking a highly motivated and versatile environmental specialist, geologist, soil scientist, or similar technical professional to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a geologist, environmental engineer/scientist, or civil/geotechnical engineer with 0 to 2 years experience and a passion for hands-on fieldwork, particularly in environmental and/or geotechnical drilling.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, or related degree from an ABET accredited College or University
Valid Driver’s License and insurability under company policy required
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must successfully complete and pass a DOT drug and alcohol test prior to employment
Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement within the first 6 months of employment
Must be willing to learn to operate drilling equipment using direct push and rotary tooling

Experience in environmental consulting or civil/geotechnical fieldwork
OSHA HAZWOPER Certification
CPR/First Aid Training
Class A CDL
Experience operating heavy machinery
Welding skills
Problem solving

Responsibilities

Assist in drilling equipment operation for environmental and civil geotechnical investigations
Work outdoors in various weather conditions (Approx. 90%)
Travel to Wiley job sites (Approx. 75%)
Utilize effective written and oral communication
Perform staff-level scientist/engineer duties including soil and groundwater sampling, well design and construction, and lithology descriptions using USGS or USDA methodology
Always be safety conscious
